In 2013, Matt Forté, All Pro running back for the Chicago Bears, established The Matt Forté “What’s Your Forte?” Foundation after learning that 14.7 % of Chicago’s high school dropouts were incarcerated, and nearly 42,000 teens did not receive high school diplomas. As a means to help students achieve their dreams of higher education, the "What's Your Forte?" Foundation awards college scholarships to participants in the Chicago-Area who have excelled academically, demonstrated strong leadership skills and have maintained a high attendance record. The foundation was created to empower at-risk Chicago-area high school students striving to achieve their dreams of higher education by providing life-changing resources. It is our mission to support and provide opportunities through mentorship for these students. All while finding ‘WHAT’S YOUR FORTE?’ for each student in the program. As a proud graduate of Tulane University, Matt understands the power of education to change lives for the better. Together, we will build relationships and programs that will help to eliminate those statistics.
